SOUTH AFRICA – Around 7000 cotton textile workers, employed across 65 factories in South Africa, will benefit from a backdated wage increase in a new union agreement with the South African Clothing and Textiles Workers’ Union (SACTWU) and the South African Cotton & Textile Processing Employers Association,  which also includes commitments to projects aimed at reducing companies’ carbon footprints and other ‘green economy’ issues.
